Christian convert Dr. Tomaje Ariankia sentenced to ten years in prison
According to reports received from Iran, this Christian citizen was summoned to the Islamic Revolutionary Court of Karaj by telephone on November 5, and after appearing, he was notified of his ten-year prison sentence by Judge Mostafa Narimani.
"Mohabat News" – Informed sources from Iran reported that Christian convert "Dr. Tomajeh Arian Kia", a member of the Payam Rahaei Church, who was summoned to the Islamic Revolutionary Court of Karaj by telephone on November 5, received his 10-year prison sentence by Judge Mostafa Narimani after appearing.
Among the charges against Christian convert Dr. Arian Kia are "propaganda against the Islamic Republic of Iran through the preaching of Christianity", "collaboration with hostile governments (Israel, England, America)" and "membership in groups hostile to the regime".
Accordingly, Tomaje Ariankia was sentenced to 10 years in prison and a two-year ban on social activities by the lower court. After receiving the verdict, he appealed, but the judge did not accept it.
According to the report, he has filed an appeal to the court in this regard and is still awaiting a response.
One of the points related to the case of this Christian convert is the issuance of a heavy bail for his temporary release. The issuance of about 5 billion tomans of bail for the temporary release of Christian activists is unprecedented.
Christian convert Tomaje Ariankia, who is a member of the "Christian Freedmen Party (AMA)" and the "Pan-Iranist", was first arrested on November 2, 1402, after plainclothes forces searched his home and confiscated a set of Bibles and some personal items. After 28 days in solitary confinement, he was transferred to the general ward of Karaj Prison and was detained there for about 40 days.
